Updated: Oct 18, 2023

Are you a business owner local to the Ely area? Well, how about attending an exclusive event to clear away the winter blues, sampling some proper beer and doing a bit of networking at the same time?

The Ely and District Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale hold a very successful annual Winter Ale and Cider Festival – this year’s takes place on 26th and 27th January. On the evening of Thursday 25th January there is an exclusive event for the local businesses, not open to the general public, where brewers, licensees, committee members and volunteers get to meet up and sample the beers and ciders which will go on sale the following day.

For the first time in its history, and at the instigation of the Ely Chamber, this event on 25th January will also be opened up to a limited number of local businesses (50) from 5pm – 7pm. This networking event will give you the opportunity to meet up with all those already attending as well as other local businesses and to make new contacts and explore new business opportunities. It will also provide the opportunity to meet members of the Ely Chamber of Commerce Committee and to hear about what the Chamber is doing across the County and locally – we would also love to hear from you about what you think the Chamber should be doing. The venue is very aptly at the Maltings Ely – as well as networking your entry fee includes a number of free drinks and so you will be able to sample beers and ciders of your choice before they go on sale to the general public.

During the festival itself there will be a wide range of beers (approximately 84) and ciders (approximately 20) on offer for your enjoyment, including gluten free and vegan beers – the final beer and cider list will be available on Monday 22nd January 2018.

Breweries to be featured will include: The Three Blind Mice Brewery Bexar County Brewery Xtreme ales Micro Brewery Mile Tree Brewery Colchester Brewery Abstract Jungle Brewery Muirhouse Brewery The All Day Brewing Company

Programmes will be available on the day which will also list all the beers available.

The entry fee will cover tasting beers, beer tokens and a commemorative glass.

This is going to be an enjoyable and popular event, so make sure you get your booking in as soon as possible!
