We are delighted that we have just been announced as a finalist for the “Website of the Year” award at the 2013 East Cambridgeshire Business Awards. We are also a finalist for the “Small Business of the Year” category, so we are very happy indeed!
We established Emerald Frog Marketing in 2010 with a basic website to get our business of the ground. This year, as part of our strategy to grow the business, we decided to have a brand refresh and invest in a new website that launched at the end of April, to showcase some of the projects we have been working over on over the past 3 years.
We’ve worked hard to make sure the new website not only looks good (we hope!) but is also extremely well search engine optimised with lots of Google friendly content, so that it would rank highly for terms including “marketing agency Ely”, “Cambridge marketing agency”, “East Anglia marketing agency” and “marketing consultants Cambridge”. We are on page one for all of these terms now. This has helped people to find us easily and a sizeable 22% of our leads come to us via our website. This saves us considerable budget on outbound marketing.
Key Features of the new website
Bespoke design by Emerald Frog Marketing
“Responsive” mobile-friendly layout to engage with people more clearly on mobile devices.
Includes all of our own unique photography as oppose to stock imagery (which can be over-used on websites at times)
Customer-friendly navigation improving the overall user experience on the site
Displays customer case studies to provide readers with more information on our services and how we operate
Displays customer testimonials to offer prospective clients a chance to hear what our existing customers say about us
Offers a menu of services on the home page for customers to choose from
Improvements to the business so far:
Positive feedback from customers and connections
Improved the brand image, moving from a start up to an established small business, content rich with lots of client case studies, blogs and testimonials
Improved quality of leads due to information available on our website.
All members of the team are familiar with the WordPress Content Management systems allowing us to create our own specialist blog content.
We have Google Analytics installed on the site and since the new site launched, there has been a 37% increase in the number of unique visitors (i.e. different people visiting the site).
The number of pages viewed per visit has already increased by 8.5% – showing more engagement with the content.
Overall, the number of page views was up by nearly 48% with the new website.
The bounce rate fell by 3.5% (the number of people who just looked at one page then left), again suggesting that our new website is engaging people more with its content.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Ely Cathedral on October 4th. Please wish us luck!
